How to Use the Boltless Shelf Safely
Aug 22 , 2022The latest advances in engineering design and manufacturing technology have made the boltless storage rack system more and more robust. It is very common to store a large amount of goods on these boltless shelves. This type of shelf is also widely used. It is very beautiful and practical for placing goods at home or in the office. However, the safety of shelves is often neglected. We also see videos of supermarket shelves collapsing on social media. Many of these events are caused by improper storage settings. So, what can we do to ensure that the shelves can be used safely?
1. The heavier items should be placed lower
When heavier goods are stored at a lower level and lighter goods are stored at a higher level, the storage function scheme of using shelves is the best. Otherwise, it is easy to cause the collapse of the shelves or the goods falling and hitting people.
2. Store common items in a conspicuous place
Similar to the concept of placing goods in the supermarket, in the supermarket, most of the goods purchased are at the level of sight and easy to access. Generally, the "golden area" for storage is located at the level from the waist to the chest. This is the place to store the most commonly used or easily accessible items, so that you will not squat or stretch frequently, thus maximizing the use of the shelf.
3. No climbing
Since the boltless shelf is designed to operate normally without being fixed on the wall, it has the following conditions: the shelf height is not more than 3 meters, the depth to height ratio is not more than 1:7, and there are at least 4 shelves between each shelf. Whether these conditions are met or not, you should not climb any shelves. Always use a short ladder or stool platform to access anything above your reach.
