Although narrow aisle racks are evolved from pallet racks, there are still differences in function and use between them. Pallet racks are both heavy duty racks and belong to low-level storage racks, which can be operated by ordinary forklifts or even manually. The narrow aisle racks are high-rise racks, and are generally operated by special forklifts.

Heavy-duty racks are generally 3-5 layers, while narrow aisle racks are much higher than it, generally 10 meters or more. In this way, more goods can be loaded, and the intensive storage of the racks can be realized. Narrow aisle racks, as the name suggests, are named after the narrow corridors directly connected to each row of racks. This is a major feature of it; and general heavy-duty racks can be reserved for the adaptation area and turning width of general forklifts.
